Barnoodle is a modern noodle bar inspired by the food we grew up eating and the places that shaped us as young cooks
We were born and raised in Singapore and Malaysia, places notoriously known for noodles, a unique blend of cultures where noodles show up at every part of the day, breakfast, lunch, late nights, always on the table.
In our culture, noodles symbolize longevity and meals meant to be shared. They are everyday food, comfort food, celebration food.
Years later, while working in New York City kitchens, noodle bars became our go to after long shifts, especially in the east village. Simple bowls, lively rooms, un-fussy food that felt comforting, familiar, and alive.
Our paths took us through Michelin starred restaurants and luxury hotels, including Spice Market, Nougatine, Jean Georges, Nobu, Mandarin Oriental Hotel New York, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, and Shangri La Singapore. We learned precision, discipline, and craft but always found ourselves back at noodle bars.
Those experiences became the foundation for Barnoodle. Something casual, playful, and a little louder. A modern noodle bar rooted in Asian American flavors, with food made for sharing and drinks that fit the moment.
